Canopy Wireless Broadband Platform. Providing Wireless Broadband
solutions to CARRIERS, ISP's, Wisps, ENTERPRISE, RURAL
COMMUNITIES, Educational, Government Agencies and more... It is
ideal for developing, enhancing and extending broadband wireless
networks, making delivery of high-demand technologies like
broadband wireless Internet access (last mile access), voice over
IP (VoIP), video services, security surveillance and E1/T1
capabilities both much quicker and much less expensive. |
Founded in January 2004 by two widely acknowledged experts in the
field of millimeter wave wireless technology, GigaBeam, based in
Herndon, Virginia, is fast earning distinction as the Company with the
solution to overcome the numerous impediments to pervasive high speed
broadband delivery.
GigaBeam’s WiFiber® technology enables point-to-point wireless
communications using very high radio frequencies (at 71-76 and 81-86
GHz) for multigigabit- per-second transmission of data, voice and

The uptake of BWA technologies has
historically been restrained by the lack of interoperability
between the equipment of the industry's many manufacturers and the
availability of standards-based, volume components. WiMAX, a
non-profit industry trade organization, is working to to change
that. The group was formed by leading communications component and
equipment companies to promote and certify the compatibility and
interoperability of broadband wireless access equipment that
conforms to the IEEE* 802.16 and ETSI HIPERMAN standards. In doing
so, it is promoting a new standard for last-mile wireless
technologies designed to provide broadband connectivity to homes,
businesses, and Wi-Fi HotSpots so that BWA can truly compete with
today's wireline DSL, cable, and T1 broadband access systems. |
