Specially crafted for the Americas
market, the WiMAX Forum Congress Americas offers you an opportunity
to showcase your products and solutions to 5000 key representatives
from the Americas service provider community and beyond.
Sprint Nextel is investing $1.1bn in its 2.5GHz WiMAX network this
year, with $800 million set aside for capital expenditures. The
operator intends to serve 19 cities by April 2008 and plans to cover
a population of 100 million by end-2008. Additionally, Craig McCaw’s
Clearwire, which recently raised $600 million in an initial public
offering of stock, is pushing WiMAX to the forefront of the N.
American telecommunications agenda. The company offers fixed
wireless broadband service via proprietary technology in 37 markets
across 12 U.S. states and is working with Intel to trial mobile
WiMAX.
In addition, the huge potential of the Latin American market is
becoming very apparent with recent announcements of commercial
deployments in Chile plus the first commercial WiMAX network in
Colombia, and Brazilian regulator Anatel predicting that broadband
users could reach 10 million by 2010 – the Latin America market it
hot. According to analyst firm Maravedis, the total accumulated
equipment market for BWA/WiMAX in Brazil is expected to reach US$300
million by 2010, thus establishing Brazil a key battleground for BWA/WiMAX
vendors.
The WiMAX Forum Congress Americas 2008 show case will provide an
important industry platform to bring the entire Americas market
together to network, learn and do business under 1 roof.
