Relay Communications “ARC” System Core Technology for wireless voice
and data communications, announced today it has received orders for
the Commercial and Military System models of its ROSETTA-911™
Interoperable Communications Systems for rapid response to critical
emergencies and natural or man-made disasters. |

Following a series of
System demonstrations, Platforms Wireless delivered its first
ROSETTA-911™ Commercial System Model M-2; System Configuration (SYSCON)
C-2, on June 9, 2007. Initial feedback on the performance of the
System has been positive. The ROSETTA-911™ Military System, Model M-1,
SYSCON C-1 is scheduled for delivery in August 2007.
The ROSETTA-911™ Interoperable Communications System is one of the
most advanced, transportable radio, cellular, and Internet/VOIP
interoperable communications systems available for rapid response to
critical emergencies and natural or man-made disasters. The System
offers Internet/VOIP connectivity with two independent IP addresses,
and it enables disparate VHF, UHF, 800 MHz radios, cellular and
land-line (secured) telephones to interconnect and communicate with
each other, regardless of differences in equipment makes or brands,
communications protocols, and/or communications backbone systems.
ROSETTA-911™ Systems are easy-to-use, turn-key systems that interface
seamlessly with existing legacy radios and communications
infrastructures -- without the need to change or replace existing
equipment. ROSETTA-911™ Systems are delivered ready to use and fully
equipped with VHF, UHF, 800 MHz mobile (LMR) radios, matching portable
radios, a cellular and land-line (STU-III compatible) telephone port,
Internet/VOIP communications connectivity with two independent IP
addresses, a custom, tri-band interoperable antenna, easy-to-use,
comprehensive command and control facilities that enable incident
commanders to efficiently control, direct, and manage emergency first
response critical communications traffic, and a mil-spec transportable
roller case.
ROSETTA-911™ Systems are designed to: (i) seamlessly interface and
integrate with the Platforms RECOM-911™ Rapid Response Airborne
Cellular Communications System to provide integrated, interoperable
radio, cellular, and Internet/VOIP communications system facilities;
and/or (ii), operate separately and independently, as a transportable
radio and cellular interoperable communications systems field station,
with Internet/VOIP communications connectivity.
ROSETTA-911™ Interoperable Communications Systems are currently being
marketed to the U.S. Department of Defense, the U.S. Department of
Homeland Security, all branches of the military, critical-incident
first-response organizations, including law-enforcement, fire
departments, emergency medical services, and various civilian and
security organizations that depend on radio communications to perform
their work. The System is also being featured and exhibited at major
military trade shows and conventions, and demonstrated at major
military exercises.
Lawrence McLean, Vice President, Operations of Platforms Wireless
observed: “We are very pleased with the quality and reliability of our
ROSETTA-911™ Interoperable Communications Systems, and the positive
responses we are receiving on our new product. Our present focus is on
improving, standardizing, and streamlining our manufacturing, testing,
and quality control processes to ensure the quality and reliability of
our products. At the same time, we are working diligently on new
RECOM-911™ complementary system products, and arranging for
manufacturing facilities to support the anticipated market demand for
our state-of-the-art, emergency communications system products.”
William C. Martin, President & CEO of Platforms Wireless, stated: “We
are pleased and proud to announce the first sales of our ROSETTA-911™
Interoperable Communications Systems. We believe these initial sales
represent an important validation of our decision to expand and
broaden our emergency communications system product lines. These
initial sales also mark the beginning of a significant and challenging
new period for our Company, as we transition from an R&D organization
to a revenue-generating, production enterprise. We thank our strategic
partners for their continuing support and invaluable assistance. This
success would not have been possible without their involvement and
participation.”
ABOUT PLATFORMS WIRELESS INTERNATIONAL CORPORATION (OTC: “PLFM”)
Platforms Wireless International Corporation, headquartered in
Westlake Village, California, is the developer of the innovative
airborne wireless communications technology known as the Airborne
Relay Communications “ARC” System Core Technology™. The ARC System
Core Technology is designed to provide multiple wide area wireless
telecommunications services from a lighter-than-air platform suspended
1,000 to 5,000 meters above mean sea level by a tethered aerostat. The
RECOM-911™, “Rapid Response Emergency Communications System,” is the
Company’s flagship product, and a derivative system product of the ARC
System Core Technology. The RECOM-911™ System is an airborne, rapid
response emergency communications system that can be readily
transported to critical emergency and natural or man-made disaster
locations. The System provides a cellular communications airborne
service coverage diameter of 220-kilometers, or a 60 to 70-mile
radius, with a service capacity of 35,000 to 50,000 users. The
RECOM-911™ System interfaces with the ROSETTA-911™ System to provide
VHF, UHF, 800 MHz radio and cellular interoperability facilities with
Internet/VOIP communications connectivity. The ROSETTA-911™ System can
also operate as a separate, transportable, independent interoperable
communications field station. Management believes its advances in the
field of airborne wireless communications technology, reinforced by
new product developments, will provide efficient, cost-effective,
voice and data communications solutions for rapid response to critical
emergencies and natural or man-made disasters, and for augmenting,
replacing, and/or supplementing terrestrial land-line and wireless
telecommunications infrastructures. |
