Centile allows debitel Netherlands, the leading Dutch Mobile Virtual Network Operator to be the first in the Dutch market with a new service offering a bundled GSM-VoIP product with a handset. The service allows debitel to rapidly deliver on the opportunities for growth driven by the emerging fixed-mobile convergence market to existing and new customers.

Sophia Antipolis, FRANCE, Centile, one of the leading enablers of next-generation SIP-based services for converged Fixed-Mobile and multimedia applications, today announced that debitel Netherland BV has selected Centile's IntraSwitch platform to deliver hybrid GSM-VoIP services to its residential and business customers in Holland.
debitel Netherlands' goal is to better serve its customers' mobility needs as the emergence of wireless IP networks grow and customers' demand one device convergence for both office and home use. By choosing Centile's IntraSwitch as the core VoIP media platform, combined with various Nokia dual mode handsets like the brandnew E65 and the multimedia enabled N80i, debitel Netherlands is able to launch a next generation wireless VoIP service called debitel One, coupled with its current MVNO offerings.

debitel's Hybrid GSM/VoIP solution debitel One will extend communication capabilities and will enable consumers to have one extension shared between their fixed and dual-mode handsets. When receiving a call, both terminals will ring simultaneously, so that the person can be reached at any time and from anywhere regardless of location and network access.

The cooperation with debitel and the successful integration of the Nokia handsets allow Centile to position itself as the first VoIP application vendor to commercially launch a wireless VoIP service with a dual GSM-WiFi handset in Europe.

Jose Ruiz, COO of Centile stated: "debitel's choice for Centile is proof that carriers are now aggressively starting to market VoIP services as well as innovate their product portfolio. The blur between fixed, broadband and wireless networks is emerging as a result of convergence. debitel is listening to its customer base. Based on research it is found that most professionals spend 40% of their time in WiFi enabled environments, this can add up to tremendous cost and productivity savings if they could be connected at those times through an IP network on one device, we are confident that debitel will have a very successful response from their customers with this product".

Joël Becher, CCO/COO of debitel Netherlands reported: "The development of our fixed-mobile convergence services is a key element in debitel's strategy to strengthen our leading MVNO position in the Netherlands. The debitel One product is unique in the marketplace and is well positioned to generate sales in both the consumer and the business segments. We selected Centile's IntraSwitch platform because it enabled us to easily integrate the dual-mode handset and to satisfy our customers' mobility needs".
