"Hosted services
continue to grow on a global scale, with the largest growth segment
being SMBs," said David Lemelin, In-Stat analyst. "ADTRAN's integrated
approach to Hosted VoIP gives carriers a compelling solution to
penetrate the worldwide SMB market." It provides end-to-end circuit
control for guaranteeing QoS and service availability from the network
to the desktop IP phones by including a managed switch in the CPE
device. "This solution allows SMBs to reap the benefits of VoIP
without significant capital outlay or the expense of in-house
technical expertise," stated Lemelin.
"Our carrier customers have requested a solution that will allow them
to economically accelerate the delivery of Hosted VoIP services to the
SMB market without sacrificing reliability, scalability, or
functionality," said Tim Saunders, vice president of product
management, ADTRAN Enterprise Networks Division. "Our NetVanta 1355
replaces multiple standalone devices to simplify network installation
and management. This flexible platform allows carriers to provide
competitive, revenue-generating services to retain and attract new
customers, while eliminating truck rolls, and lowering overall
operational expenses."
The NetVanta 1355 provides dynamic access to carrier IP networks
allowing both SMBs and distributed enterprises to benefit from
increased telephony feature sets, simplified network administration
and cost savings without sacrificing voice quality or service
availability. The NetVanta 1355 is powered by the ADTRAN Operating
System (AOS) and includes comprehensive data and security networking
features, Virtual Private Networking (VPN) and Wide Area Network (WAN)
interface options including T1, Multilink T1, E1, DSL, SHDSL or
Ethernet. The integrated 24-port PoE switch provides support for
standards-based SIP phones, including ADTRAN co-branded Polycom IP
phones. Other features include E911 dialing and VoIP survivability for
network connectivity in the event of a network outage or WAN link
failure. A robust SIP gateway also provides interoperability with
industry-leading softswitches, feature servers, and media gateways.
Digital telephony equipment, analog phones, fax machines, and modems
are also supported for transitioning networks. A familiar Command Line
Interface (CLI) as well as an intuitive Web-based multilingual
Graphical User Interface (GUI) provide remote configuration,
management, and ease of use. ADTRAN also offers n-Command, a
productivity management tool designed to push firmware and manage
configuration files remotely.
The NetVanta 1355 has a list price of $3,295 and is currently
available for worldwide distribution.
