Tilgin
March 16, 2007

CeBIT, Hanover, Germany -- Tilgin, a leading provider of customer premises equipment (CPE) for triple play services, today announced the launch of a new range of Vood 1000 home gateway products.

Designed to be compliant with the Home Gateway Initiative Release 1, the new CPE range offers the powerful and intelligent functionality needed for delivering next-generation and operator-managed services into the online home.

The products not only enable operators to provide fast, flexible and competitive triple play services but also allow them to expand their broadband offerings to include new IMS-based services. By focusing on improved service delivery and functionality, the broadband home gateways enable operators to deliver more and better services – faster, cheaper and with a longer lifecycle.

The new Vood 1000 gateways offer ADSL2+ or Ethernet WAN connectivity along with servicing switch and routed fixed/wireless LAN. Voice over IP is provided for analog and ISDN telephones, with support for wideband codecs that deliver high definition audio. They also enable multiple high-definition IPTV streams to be simultaneously delivered within the home.

Enabling the digital home – now and tomorrow
By allowing operators to leverage the full potential of next-generation converged networks, the Vood 1000 home gateways offer both cost and service advantages. Setting the ground for future industry developments outside the existing triple play services, each gateway includes TR-069 remote management support, high-performance routing, fully managed multicast LAN switching, and a capacity for IMS service upgrades. As a result operators will be able to deliver a growing number of new and converged information, communication and entertainment services without a need for the costly and time-consuming rollout of new gateways.

Dante Iacovoni, Tilgin’s Marketing Director, comments:
“Tilgin’s new Vood 1000 Home Gateways offer state-of-the-art CPE solutions for next-generation broadband services. Not only do they meet the current requirements for operators looking to roll-out triple play services – including PSTN replacement and support for multiple TVs – they are also able to address the growing interest in deploying future-oriented IMS-based services.”

“By integrating with our award-winning Tilgin IMS@Home platform, the new product range helps operators to leverage their IMS network deployments and deliver an expanded portfolio of new and innovative managed services into the home.”

Operator-managed functionality
The new Vood 1000 products align with the requirement specifications of the Home Gateway Initiative (HGI) to ensure not only comprehensive, operator-managed functionality, but also to provide high performance and QoS for next-generation broadband services. By using the wideband G.722 codec they deliver better than PSTN-quality voice. Further, they provide powerful and secure wireless LAN connectivity that includes multiple service set identifiers (SSID) catering to FMC solutions, powerful QoS capabilities based on IEEE 802.11e and WMM, and WPA2 (Wi-Fi Protected Access 2) for stronger data protection and network access control.

Appreciated as the intelligent gateway into the home for all IP communications, Tilgin home gateways help service providers to evolve their portfolio of triple play services for voice, video and data. Tilgin gateways are designed to be an integrated component in a service provider’s network, enabling zero-touch auto-provisioning, remote management and complete control for the service provider. Besides offering service providers a Telco-class solution for Voice over IP and high-speed Internet access, they also deliver powerful and advanced gateway capabilities for IPTV and IMS-based services. Tilgin home gateways are available with integrated ADSL2+, FTTH and Ethernet connectivity, and include high quality voice support for all leading VoIP back-end systems.
